Soundtrack and Music Guide

Ultimate Mining Tycoon ships 5 original tracks composed by ShootingCat alongside ambient audio for different mine zones. Innovation Inc. developers madattak and Rolijok (place ID 18680867089, live build v0.5.13) added the full soundtrack in The Soundtrack Update (v0.3.0, 2 July 2025), replacing the placeholder music that shipped at launch. This guide covers every track, where each song plays in-game, and where to stream or download the OST legally.

Soundtrack Update (v0.3.0) overview

The 2 July 2025 Soundtrack Update replaced placeholder audio with five original compositions from ShootingCat (Kristians Svika), plus a Kevin MacLeod ambient track for hub areas. Innovation Inc. also layered in area-specific ambient sounds and reverb, so every zone in the game now has distinct audio character alongside the main soundtrack.

Players can adjust music volume independently from ambient sounds using the in-game slider. Disabling music still leaves ambient mine audio active.

Track descriptions

Engineer’s Dream opens the experience. The track plays on the map surface and hub area — the strip of road between player plots, Generico Mining Gear, and the mine entrance. It carries an upbeat, construction-machinery energy that matches the factory-building tone of the game.

Cave Mystery kicks in once you enter The Mine at the Surface Layer. Slower and more atmospheric, it reflects the transition from building mode to active mining. This is the track most new players associate with early-game sessions.

Miner’s Bliss accompanies the Bedrock layer and The Primordial zone. Paced between mystery and tension, it reflects the deeper, harder mining that defines mid-to-late progression.

Further Down scores the Tectonic Zone and Mantle. More urgent and rhythmic, it mirrors the increased danger and complexity of depth mining below 1,000 metres.

Depth Risk is the Underworld track. The most intense composition in the set — short, driving, and relentless — it matches the late-game zone where Obsidian walls, rare ores, and prestige-ready players converge.

Wholesome by Kevin MacLeod handles the hub shops and services: Generico Mining Gear, Rolijok’s Prestige Store, and the Automatic Ore Recovery bays. Quieter and warmer, it provides a neutral buffer between intense mine audio and the marketplace.

Where music plays in-game

The game assigns tracks by zone, not depth alone:

  • Surface / Hub → Engineer’s Dream
  • Surface Layer mine entrance → Cave Mystery
  • Bedrock / Primordial → Miner’s Bliss
  • Tectonic Zone / Mantle → Further Down
  • Underworld → Depth Risk
  • Generico / Prestige Store / Ore Recovery → Wholesome

Music transitions are area-based, not tied to the mine collapse timer. Players who stay near the surface continue hearing Engineer’s Dream even when the collapse clock runs low.

Volume controls

Since v0.3.0, Ultimate Mining Tycoon offers a dedicated music volume slider in addition to the general game audio control. Both sliders live in the game’s audio settings menu:

  • Music volume — controls the five ShootingCat tracks and the Kevin MacLeod ambient track.
  • Ambient volume — controls zone-specific reverb and environmental sounds separate from the main soundtrack.

Players who find the soundtrack distracting during long mining sessions can mute music while keeping ambient mine audio active.

Soundtrack and gameplay feel

Community discussions on Innovation Inc. Discord and the Miraheze wiki consistently cite Cave Mystery as the most recognisable track — it is the first song new players associate with the game and the one that plays during most early mining sessions before players reach Bedrock.

Depth Risk is the community favourite for endgame sessions. Its short runtime (2:56) and driving tempo are well-suited to fast Underworld ore loops and prestige grinding.

The soundtrack is part of what makes Ultimate Mining Tycoon distinctive — Engineer’s Dream on the surface, Depth Risk in the Underworld, and everything in between.
